During a kindergarten basketball game, coach and P.E. teacher Jonathan Oliver noticed one of his young players, Kristen Paulk, struggling because her hair kept falling into her face. She simply asked if he could put it into a ponytail. Instead of brushing her off or telling her to wait, Oliver immediately knelt down, balanced himself on a basketball, and carefully tied her braids back. 🥹
What Oliver didn’t know was that someone was recording the moment. The video quickly spread online, reaching millions of people and even making its way to Good Morning America. Yet Oliver was surprised by all the attention. “It was shocking because we all do it,” he explained, because to him, helping a child feel comfortable and cared for was simply part of being a teacher and coach. ❤️
