Actress Kelly Lee Curtis, the older sister of Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis, has passed away at the age of 69. Jamie Lee Curtis herself announced the sad news in a touching post on social media.
According to the 67-year-old actress, Kelly passed away peacefully at her home in California, surrounded by the nature she loved so much. The cause of death has not yet been made public.
In her message, Jamie described her sister as her “first friend and most trusted travel companion in life.” She recalled that Kelly was incredibly beautiful, a talented actress and a woman of strong character, known for her generosity, endless curiosity and love for family.
Kelly Lee Curtis was the eldest daughter of legendary actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. She was born in Santa Monica, California and first appeared on screen in the film “The Vikings.”
She later starred alongside her sister in the film Trading Places and had roles in several popular television series during the 1980s and 1990s.
In addition to her acting career, Kelly also worked as an assistant to Jamie Lee Curtis on several film projects. She is survived by her husband, Scott Morfee, and a family that remembers her with love and respect.
