The month of June is expected to begin with high temperatures and typical summer weather throughout the country.
Weather forecaster Lajda Porja warned that hot air masses of African origin will strongly affect the Albanian territory, bringing temperatures that will reach up to 34 degrees Celsius in the first week.
According to her, after June 5, another gradual increase in temperatures is expected, where the thermometer could reach up to 35–36°C, mainly in low-lying areas and inland cities of the country.
“In the first week of June, temperatures will be around 33-34 degrees. After the 5th, a gradual increase to 35-36 degrees Celsius in the shade is expected. These hot African masses will be present throughout the summer, with short interruptions,” the weather forecaster said.
However, the month will not be completely stable. In some areas of the country, brief rain showers are expected, caused by the rapid development of convective clouds as a result of high temperatures.
The most frequent atmospheric phenomena are expected to be recorded in the mountainous and eastern areas, while the coast will remain mostly clear and stable.
The cities most at risk from isolated rainfall are Tirana, Kukes, Puka, Bajram Curri, Peshkopia, Bulqiza, Korça, Pogradec, Erseka, Tepelena and Gjirokastra.
According to the meteorological forecast, the weather will remain mostly stable until June 10, while on June 11–12 there may be a brief interruption with temporary precipitation, followed by a return to high temperatures and clear skies.
