When a little girl finds a doll that looks like her, something as simple and beautiful as this can happen: she wants to look like her Barbie too. 💕
Little Bailey went viral after recreating the look of one of her favorite dolls, a dark-skinned Barbie with curly hair in whom she could see herself reflected. Wearing a practically identical dress, matching shoes, and a similar hairstyle, she proudly posed beside her for a series of photographs.

The images were shared by her mother, Anne Bellize, and quickly began receiving praise. Many pointed out how special it is for girls to be able to find toys with features similar to their own and also see themselves reflected in the characters they play with.
Bailey, however, probably was not thinking about any grand conversation on representation. She simply saw a Barbie she loved, wanted to dress like her, and ended up showing why being able to see themselves reflected can matter so much during childhood.
